Artist Statement

My work is driven by a need to recreate and reconnect with the content I have consumed and identify with throughout my life. Content, whether it is stories, games, videos, or images, it is a means of engaging with aspects of life that may not be reachable within a material reality.

I enjoy the discovery of fantasy worlds and spaces that invite viewers to be immersed. My animation exhibits an appreciation for human expression through the media of movement. Additionally, I create paintings that distills moments within my fantasy spaces.

Appropriating the aesthetics of anime, games, fantasy, and digital content I elicit the feeling of immersion and fantasy. Digital culture and media shape my perception of art. I am interested in connecting with viewers the same way I have connected with digital media, both informing and by receiving ideal images and ideas that guide my artistic practice as a means of expression.

Currently I am defining the relationship between animation and painting. I am investigating both the still and moving image and developing a multi-disciplinary practice nuanced and immersive in its experiences.
